Suzanne Bull was appointed as the Our View Project Person for Celebrate and Commission. She has acted as a consultant for organisations and artists delivering these Cultural Olympiad projects, and has helped to:

  • make sure that projects reflect and show authentic disabled people's involvement in practice
  • offer genuine and informed support for Accentuate projects so that they can be examples of best inclusive practice
  • ensure projects are providing a route and means for disabled people to gain the necessary position and clout to influence and become leaders in Best Practice in their chosen arts specialism / sector.

Suzanne Bull is the CEO for Attitude is Everything,  improving Deaf and disabled people's access to live music.

Project aims and achievements

  • Suzanne has worked with Blue Touch Paper Carnival, Stop Gap and Jon Adams to support them deliver their commissions. She will also be available to Rachel Gadsden and Ryan Laight for Starting Line.
  • The Creative Programmer and Cultural Olympiad Assistant have been able to direct questions that fall within Suzanne's areas of expertise, to her for feedback.
  • Suzanne has aided the career development and planning for artists and organisations by utilising her network and knowledge of funding avenues and performance spaces.

Outcomes and impact

  • Stop Gap are exploring appearing at mainstream festivals in 2013. Suzanne has encouraged them to think beyond barriers and access and focus on their artistic themes and marketing.
  • Suzanne helped Blue Touch Paper develop their accessible carnival mapping tool. They presented it at the Independent Street Arts Network Ideas Summit. Suzanne believes the tool could have national relevance and be a blueprint for any outdoor event.
